Editing
When we had finished our filming the natural next step was to edit. We all did a little bit of editing but there was one who did the majority of the editing, as he did not do much during the filming and acting process.
When all our footage was uploaded we had to go through and decided which parts of the film that we wanted to keep and what we needed.
Some of the editing techniques that we used were; Ghost trails (to make the actor seem drunk) and changing the film to black and white to help fit the connotations of film noire.
We added sound effects to the OTS but no music on the belief that music would take away some of the atmosphere and make the OTS tense. Sound effects were used to exaggerate some things such as the wind blowing.

Film Role
Director - film director, or filmmaker, is a person who directs the making and/or the production of a film. Many people also consider film producers, cinematographers, film editors, and special effects experts to be filmmakers.
Art - The art department is split into a further 6 sub catergories. These are Art, Set (deals with the look of the set and the decorating ) , Props, Construction, Scenic and Greens. Now i did not know what the term 'Greens' meant so i went and looked into it more and found that the Greensman is a specialised set dresser dealing with the artistic arrangement or landscape design of plant material.
Hair and Make up - Make up artists obviously work with make up also with hair and special effects to complete the characters look when he/she is on screen.

Filming!!!!
After weeks and weeks and weeks of planning we finally started filming. Yes thats right we actually started filming.
We did have problems while filming, mainly the weather was too dark. The inside scene was easy to film as we could manipulate the lighting ourselves but outdoors it was much more difficult.
When we did our final piece of filming some chunks were rushed due to the unbelievably cold weather.
However all in all our filming was rather successful.
Our original plan was to get a group of people to act for us, however as we did not have much time we realised that we would have to do the acting ourselves. This combined along with having to make sure that each shot was good made the task a little more difficult.

Timing
When i saw the title i had no idea what it meant so once again i looked it up on the inter net and found out, that it was the event given at a specific space of time. For example Comedians need a sence of comic timing to get the most out of a single joke.

Experimenting with light
To prepare us for our filming we decided to experiment with different kinds of lighting to see if that would help us with ideas for our filming. Below are the photographs.

Sound
Sound in films can be used to create a mood for the audience. Sound can be used in different ways for example a music track can be used over the top (eg Rocky - Montage) or as a sound bridge (linking one scene to another)
"A sound film is a motion picture with synchronized sound, or sound technologically coupled to image, as opposed to a silent film." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_film
"Sound is a travelling wave which is an oscillation of pressure transmitted through a solid, liquid, or gas, composed of frequencies within the range of hearing and of a level sufficiently strong to be heard, or the sensation stimulated in organs of hearing by such vibrations." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound

Mise-en-Scene
The Mise-en-Scene is a french expression used to describe the design aspects of a production. From the background to the clothes worn by the actors.
For our production we will set it in the modern day, with the actors wearing modern clothing.

Film Classifications (BBFC)
The British Board of Film Censors was set up in 1912 by the film industry as an independent body to bring a degree of uniformity to the classification of film nationally. Statutory powers on film remain with the local councils, which may overrule any of the Board's decisions, passing films we reject, banning films we have passed, and even waiving cuts, instituting new ones, or altering categories for films exhibited under their own licensing jurisdiction. This link shows recent films and their classification, as well as giving reasons for that classification.

Target Audience
People who watch films.
There are different types of people who watch films.
Traditionalist - will only go to see films from their preferred genre, knowing that they can expect familiar conventions, For example Disney films.
Headonist - prefers to take risks with their fim choices, they do not stick to one genre/director, they would rather gain a wider perspective of the film world.
postmodernism - takes a concept that is modern and expands on the idea "The Compact Oxford English Dictionary refers to postmodernism as "a style and concept in the arts characterized by distrust of theories and ideologies and by the drawing of attention to conventions" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postmodernism)

Film Noire
A brief definition of Film Noire.
Film noir began in the 1930's and remained as a strong cinematic medium until the early 1960's. Film noir literally means "black film" in French and features themes which are more negative than positive, with an overall dark and shadowy outlook--being filmed in black and white. This film genre takes in detective and crime noir as well as many gangster films of the 1930's. Noir also moves into more modern films combining with other genres. These would include western noir--"High Noon", romance noir--"Laura", crime noir--"The Big Heat" and even modern detective noir--"L.A. Confidential" and "Chinatown". http://www.essortment.com/all/filmnoirdefini_roud.htm
